ABSTRACT
To better understand the role of protein synthesis in axons, we have identified source a portion axonal RNA. We show that proximal segments transected sciatic nerves accumulate newly-synthesized RNA axons. This is synthesized Schwann cells because was labeled complete absence neuronal cell bodies both vitro and vivo. also demonstrate transfer prevented by disruption actin it fails to occur myosin-Va. Our results cell-to-cell identify part mechanism required for transfer. The induction injury suggests interventions following or degeneration, particularly gene therapy, may be accomplished applying them nearby glial (or implanted stem cells) at site promote regeneration.
