ABSTRACT
International policy is placing increasing emphasis on adaptation to climate change, including the allocation of new funds assist efforts. Climate change funding may be most effective where it meets integrated goals, but global geographic priorities based multiple development and ecological criteria are not well characterized. Here we show that human natural needs related maintaining agricultural productivity ecosystem integrity intersect in ten major areas globally, providing a coherent set international for funding. An additional seven regional identified as worthy study. The priority locations changes crop suitability affecting impoverished farmers with ranges restricted-range species. Agreement among models emissions scenarios suggests these robust. Adaptation directed could simultaneously address poverty reduction, protecting production safeguarding services.
