ABSTRACT
Histopathologic interpretation of dermoscopic and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) features cutaneous melanoma was timidly carried out using perpendicular histologic sections, which does not mimic the same plane image achieved at both techniques (horizontal plane). The aim this study to describe transverse sections research technique correlate main characteristic (atypical network, irregular globules pseudopods) with RCM histopathology in order offer a more precise vivo detectable features. Four melanomas 2 nevi different clues have been studied. Lesion areas that showed were imaged by dermoscopy directly correlated sections. We presented possibility perform as new approach understand Atypical network aspects melanomas: one case it characterized pleomorphic malignant melanocytes tendency form aggregates, whereas other elongated dendritic cells crowded around dermal papillae, some them forming bridges resembled mitochondrial aspect transversal Pigment differed for presence large atypical former, pseudopods up nests protruded toward periphery lesion. Transverse consistent correlate, may represent an help feature advance improving diagnosis knowledge biology melanocytic lesions.
