ABSTRACT
Piwi proteins are part of a superfamily Argonaute proteins, which one the core components RNA silencing pathway in many eukaryotes. thought to repress transposon expression both transcriptionally and post-transcriptionally. Recently, Drosophila melanogaster was recently reported associate with chromatin interact directly Heterochromatin Protein 1 (HP1a). However, similar interactions have not been other higher Here we show that silkworm HP1s nucleus. The silkworm, Bombyx mori, has two Ago3 Siwi, typical HP1 HP1a HP1b. We found plays an important role interaction between Ago3/Siwi HP1b ovary-derived BmN4 cell line. also regulates transcription HP1-dependent manner. These results suggest function as regulator collaboration
