ABSTRACT
Recently introduced micronized copper (MC) formulations, consisting of a nanosized fraction basic (Cu) carbonate (CuCO3·Cu(OH)2) nanoparticles (NPs), were to the market for wood protection. Cu NPs may presumably be more effective against wood-destroying fungi than bulk or ionic compounds. In particular, Cu- tolerant not recognize NPs, which penetrate into fungal cell walls and membranes exert their impact. The objective this study was assess if MC preservative formulations have superior efficacy Cu-tolerant due nano effects conventional biocides. After screening range resistance Cu, we investigated growth fungus Rhodonia placenta in solid liquid media on treated with azole (MCA). cultures evaluated response ion, distinguishing particle by means Cu2+ chelator ammonium tetrathiomolybdate (TTM) measuring biomass, oxalic acid production laccase activity R. placenta. Our results do support presence particular MCA that would account an increased antifungal efficacy, but provide evidence attribute main effectiveness azoles.
