ABSTRACT
Tumor associated macrophages are major inflammatory cells that play an important role in the tumor microenvironment. In this study, we investigated prognostic significance of (TAMs) MSI-high gastric cancers using immunohistochemistry. CD68 and CD163 were used as markers for total infiltrating M2-polarized macrophages, respectively. The density CD68+ or CD163+ TAMs four different areas (epithelial stromal compartments both center invasive front) analyzed 143 cases advanced a computerized image analysis system. Gastric scored "0" "1" each area when was below above median value. Low combined closely with more frequent low-grade histology intestinal type Lauren classification. survival analysis, low significantly poor disease-free survival. multivariate areas, epithelial front independent indicator cancers. addition, correlated lymphocytes (TILs). Our results indicate high is marker heralding prolonged implication might be determined by proportional balance TILs
