ABSTRACT
Cytokinin (CK) is a vital plant hormone that controls many aspects of growth and development in plants. Nitrogen (N) the indispensable macronutrient needed plants also one most important limiting factors for growth. This study was designed to investigate simultaneous effects CK N on visual turf quality antioxidant metabolism drought-stressed creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera L.). 'PennA-4' treated with trans-zeatin riboside at three rates concentrations 0, 10 100 μM (designated by CK0, 10, 100) two nitrogen 2.5 7.5 kg N·ha-1 every 15 days low high N) complete factorial arrangement grown under soil moisture regimes: well-watered drought stress. Exogenous improved delayed leaf wilting stress, especially N. The grasses CK10 CK100 had lower O2- production H2O2 concentration than those without treatment. treatment enhanced activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), catalase (CAT), guaiacol (POD) 25%, 22%, 17% 24%, respectively, relative CK0. Moreover, activity changes enzyme isoforms were more significant condition condition. Our results demonstrated beneficial impacts physiological reactions, metabolism, foliar application or plus ha-1 biweekly may improve stress resistance bentgrass.
