ABSTRACT
An increasing number of industrial, agricultural and commercial chemicals in the aquatic environment lead to various deleterious effects on organisms, which is becoming a serious global health concern. In this study, Ames test SOS/umu were conducted investigate potential genotoxicity mutagenicity caused by organic extracts from drinking water sources. Organic content source was extracted with XAD-2 resin column solvents. Four doses extract equivalent 0.25, 0.5, 1 2L tested for toxicity. All samples collected six different locations Guangdong province. The results showed that all could induce levels DNA damage mutagenic potentials at dose 2 L absence S9 mix, demonstrated existence mutagenicity. Additionally, we found Salmonella typhimurium strain TA98 more sensitive mutagen. Correlation analysis between genotoxicity, Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) most individual OCPs frame shift toxicants sources, there no correlation total PAHs.
