ABSTRACT
Background The central sensitization inventory (CSI) comprises 25 items and is commonly used to measure somatic emotional symptoms related symptoms. CSI was developed as an easy-to-administer screening instrument for patients at high risk of developing in whom it essential quickly evaluate the condition. purpose present study develop a short form its psychometric properties using contemporary approach called Rasch analysis. Methods A total 505 with musculoskeletal disorders were recruited this study. CSI, pain intensity, interference, health-related quality life (QOL) evaluated each participant. original consecutively analyzed model. Successive analyses performed until final set satisfied model fit requirements. We also forms CSI. Results Four consecutive identified removable items. Finally, shortest questionnaire obtained that maintained correct based on contained only 9 (CSI-9). analysis showed CSI-9 had acceptable internal consistency, exhibited unidimensionality, no notable differential item functioning, functional category rating scale. Conclusions nine-item has suitable use pain. Thus, can be brief sensitization.
