ABSTRACT
An antifungal active fraction (AAF) from the coelomic fluid (CF) of earthworm Dendrobaena veneta was isolated. The aim study to analyze activity AAF and carry out chemical characterization fraction. showed against a clinical C. albicans isolate, ATCC 10231, krusei 6258. It effectively reduced metabolic cells influenced their morphology after 48 hours incubation. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images revealed loss integrity cell wall induced by Calcofluor White staining changes in structure AAF. fungal died via apoptosis necrosis treatment with studied Electrophoresis under native conditions presence two compounds AAF, while SDS/PAGE gel electrophoresis several protein carbohydrate compounds. analyzed using Raman spectroscopy, MALDI TOF/TOF, ESI LC-MS. analysis confirmed proteins determined secondary structure. TOF/TOF facilitated detection four main mass 7694.9 m/z, 12292.3 21628.3 42923.2 m/z preparation nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) gas chromatography (GC-MS). ATR-FTIR spectrum exhibited high similarity egg white lysozyme. no endotoxicity cytotoxicity towards normal skin fibroblasts (HSF); therefore, it can be used for mucous membrane candidiasis future. Given its efficient selective action, seems promising albicans.
