ABSTRACT
Chronic inflammation, as a consequence of the persistent infection with Trypanosoma cruzi, leads to continuous activation immune system in patients chronic Chagas disease. We have previously shown that increased sera levels soluble P-selectin are associated severity cardiomyopathy distinctive In this study, we explored expression biomarkers platelet and endothelial activation, tissue remodeling, mediators coagulation cascade at different clinical stages heart The frequencies activated platelets, measured by CD41a CD62P were decreased disease compared those uninfected subjects, an inverse association severity. Platelet response adenosine diphosphate was also T. cruzi-infected subjects. A major proportion cruzi infected subjects showed serum fibrinogen. Patients severe cardiac dysfunction endothelin-1 normal values procollagen I. conclusion, induced hemostatic alterations, even who do not yet present symptoms.
