ABSTRACT
Objectives The aim of the study was (I) to estimate prevalence Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and distribution types FGM/C among migrant girls women in Netherlands, (II) number at risk being cut immediate future. Methods National population-based survey data regarding were applied female migrants Netherlands who migrated from 29 countries with available nationally representative on FGM/C. Results As January 1st 2018, there 95,588 residing originating Our findings suggest that about 41,000 had undergone FGM/C, which 37% Type III (infibulation). In total 4,190 are estimated be next 20 years, whom 394 first-generation girls. Conclusion These show urgency develop appropriate strategies policies prevent protect practice, provide adequate services support for those affected by Netherlands.
