ABSTRACT
We describe a new species of rain frog the genus Pristimantis from city Loja, Southern Ecuador, based on an integrative taxonomy approach, combining molecular, morphological and bioacoustics data. lojanus sp. nov. is medium sized phylogenetically strongly supported P . phoxocephalus group, its sister torresi The can be easily distinguished closest congeners morphologically similar (that also have acuminate snout with fleshy keel) by characteristic advertisement call features (dorsum finely tuberculate scattered larger tubercles, flanks without longitudinal lateral folds, no markings in axilla, groin or concealed limb surfaces, bronze iris).
