ABSTRACT
The ancestry of each locus the genome can be estimated (local ancestry) based on sequencing or genotyping information together with reference panels ancestral source populations. length those ancestry-specific genomic segments are commonly used to understand migration waves and admixture events. In short time scales, it is often interest determine existence most recent unadmixed ancestor from a specific population t generations ago. We built hypothesis test if an individual has belonging target ago these lengths at level. applied this data set that includes 20 Uruguayan admixed individuals estimate for one how many indigenous lived. As method tests separately, particularly suited small sample sizes, such as our study ancient samples.
