Utilization of mobile health applications and determinant factors among health science students at Debre Markos University, northwest Ethiopia in 2022

ABSTRACT
High penetration of smartphones and ownership among the young generation increased utilization mobile health applications for management university students more than ever. Compared to other service provision mechanisms has higher advantages in promoting a healthy lifestyle since it is not limited time space. Even though there are numerous studies conducted area utilization, this phenomenon well studied Ethiopia, Hence study aims determine level science students.A cross-sectional was carried out at Debre Markos University from April 05 June 25, 2022 students. For study, 423 were recruited Science College using systematic sampling method. The data gathered self-administered questionnaire. Using SPSS version 26 software descriptive analysis, bivariate multivariable logistic regressions performed. A P-value .05 95% confidence interval considered statistically significant. questionnaire's validity determined by expert opinion, calculating its reliability cronbach alpha (α = .78).This revealed that half 59% (144/244) participants have installed utilized 1-3 health-related apps. Among who 38.6% utilize application several times day while only 2.1% rarely. Usage history shows 40% year, 15.4% them 2 years. Easiness (AOR 4.8, 95%CI: [2.1-11.2]), skill AOR 4.2, [3.8-12]) trust 2.8, [1.6-4.8]) factors associated with utilization. Students asked about barriers limit use self-reported includes Lack knowledge awareness benefits, adequate applications.The moderate relative previous studies.
