ABSTRACT
Serum prealbumin level is slightly higher, whereas albumin lower in peritoneal dialysis (PD) than hemodialysis (HD) patients. It unknown whether to ratio (APR) associated with mortality risk among PD This study aimed evaluate the clinical implications of APR and its prediction value on long-term outcomes patients. The population were prevalent patients at a tertiary hospital. Based APR, total 220 divided into 3 groups: group 1: top tertile, median APR: 121.1; IQR:109.5-131.9 (n = 73, male: 37%; age: 59±13); 2: middle 97.1; IQR 93.5-100.0 male:37%; 54±14), group3: bottom 81.3; IQR:76.8-85.0 74, male:38%; 54±11). Patients followed up for maximum 5 years. Outcome interest was all-cause mortality.Group 1 characterized by older age, higher prevalence diabetes, nPCR, Davies score hs-CRP level. positively correlated (β 0.149, p 0.045), but negatively nPCR -0.161, 0.034). Hyperprealbuminemia, accounting 0%, 23.3%, 82.4% groups 1,2, 3, (HR:0.41, 95%CI 0.23-0.73). The cumulative survival significantly other two groups. By multivariable Cox regression, (HR:1.02; 95%CI:1.01-1.03) found be an independent predictor mortality.PD high are having more comorbidities marked malnutrition-inflammation status, mortality, hyperprealbuminemia favorable prognostic factors.
