ABSTRACT
Nuclear technology can be applied not only as an energy (electricity) but also in industry initiator on polymer reaction. Tapioca waste is used due to its biodegradability properties. gel formed by adding equal aquades ratio weight. After formed, several concentrations of methyl methacrylate (w/w) added the then packed into 150 mL ampule. Using Co-60 gamma irradiation source, irradiated at 5 kGy absorbed dose. Gel extracted using acetone get rid sample from impurities. Glycerol a plasticizer increase flexibility. Gel-Glycerol mixing done 60ºC, 250 rpm for one hour aquadest. To analyze mechanical properties, firstly, we need mold samples pressurized-hot press machine. Film type specimen (dog bone, astm d638-14). Specimen tested analyzing tensile strength characteristics. Fabrication biodegradable plastic based packaging starch has increasement and thermal properties Methyl 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 150% addition solution 10-24 MPa strength. fraction range between 88-100%. Even lowest monomer provide highest improve tapioca waste.
