ABSTRACT
<ja:p>The biomass of a secondary evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest was comprehensively inventoried in permanent 2 ha plot southwestern China. Biomass models, sub-sampling, soil pit method, published data were utilized to determine the all components. Results showed that total 158.1 Mg ha; included major aboveground (137.7 ha) belowground (20.3 components vascular plants as well minor bryophytes (0.078 lichens (0.043 ha). The necromass 17.6 woody debris (9.0 Mg litter (8.6 spatial pattern determined by distribution dominant trees with large diameter, tall height, dense wood. differed terms root diameter decreased increasing depth. each local habitats not related karst presented lower compared than nonkarst forests subtropical zone. carbon terrains would increase substantially if degraded vegetation could be successfully restored forest. Comprehensive site-based inventory will contribute only provide for benchmarking global regional models but also restoration.<ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup><ja:sup>â1</ja:sup></ja:p>
