ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE – The objective of this study is to review the status evaluation Variability Management (VM) approaches in Software Product Line Engineering (SPLE). METHOD We have carried out a systematic studies VM SPLE reported any publication venue and published before September 2007. RESULTS 97 papers were selected according our inclusion exclusion criteria. appeared 56 venues dominance well-known not very clear. Only small portion identified evaluated using rigorous scientific methods. A detailed investigation employing empirical research methods revealed significant quality deficiencies various assessment aspects. Even more disappointing finding that trends do appear be improving based on analysis data extracted from reviewed studied. CONCLUSIONS poor. Most proposed are amenable evaluation, but available evidence sparse presented low. findings highlight areas improvement for approaches.
