ABSTRACT
BACKGROUNDCancer of the breast is second most common cause cancer in women.Benign or malignant lesions presenting as mass causes anxiety to patients and family members. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY1. To classify different types breast, both benign malignant.2. Histomorphological study various lesions.3. spectrum associated with diseases. SETTING DESIGNAll biopsies, lumpectomies, mastectomy specimens Department Pathology our institution between June 2012 2014. MATERIALS METHODSA sample size 100 cases are included this study.Clinical details taken from records.The sent processed by routine histopathological techniques.Histopathological features studied on haematoxylin eosin-stained sections. STATISTICAL ANALYSISStatistically, test proportion used obtain frequency all lesions.Chi-square test, which find association showed a p value 0.0438 hence was considered significant. RESULTSIn study, out cases, constituted majority comprising 49 (49%), followed 46 (46%) inflammatory 5 (5%).Among lesions, fibrocystic disease predominant lesion 39 (41%), fibroadenoma 26 (28%), 13 (14%) columnar cell change 8 (9%) sclerosing adenosis.Among invasive ductal carcinoma (NST) type 31 (61%) 11 (21%) lobular carcinoma.Invasive papillary medullary 3 (6%) each 1 case (2%) metaplastic carcinoma. CONCLUSIONIn present we conclude that intermediate high risk epithelial proliferative forms matter concern since them occurring commonly young females who reproductive age group.Hence, diagnosing these small excised utmost importance regard must be carefully evaluated.
