ABSTRACT
Nano-PDLCs consist of nano-sized liquid crystal droplets suspended in a UV-curable optical adhesive polymer. These polymer matrices are stable, optically isotropic, and voltage sensitive which make them ideal for the further development of diffraction gratings and lenses with variable focal length (VFL). However, haziness causes application limits. This research serves to optimize curing parameters and switching times while limiting the amount of haze present in these cells.
