ABSTRACT
This study investigates the phenomenon of unskilled labour migration facilitated by private intermediaries in South Korea from a socio-cultural perspective migration.The research was conducted using qualitative approach, including semi-structured interviews with Thai undocumented workers Daegu, as well supplementary trip to Bangkok, Thailand explore origin.The examines process documented and context culture findings help explain why more choose work compared other Southeast Asian nationals.These migrant are known "phi-noy" slang which means "little ghosts".Formal or informal agencies brokers very popular though excluded Korea's Employment Permit System.These still play role brokerage into Korea.The aims provide better understanding existing empirical on migration, recruitment agencies.
