ABSTRACT
The objective of this research was to study the effect previous herbivory in chemical composition soybean leaves, and its influence on Anticarsia gemmatalis (Hueb.) Piezodorus guildinii (West.) development. Two genotypes, ‘Embrapa 4’ ‘BR 37’, were chemically analyzed. caterpillars fed these genotypes leaves bugs string beans, both injured non- (control), totalizing 4 treatments with 50 replications for each treatment. Herbivory performed by releasing 3 rd instar velvetbean caterpillar. taken out when 30%-40% foliar area consumed. After that, beans used experiment. results obtained during indicate that altered general, A. larvae P. nymph have presented better development non-injured plants, being genotype most efficient one concerning insects
