ABSTRACT
Electricity generation from readily biodegradable organic substrates accompanied by decolorization of azo dye was investigated using a Microbial fuel cell (MFC). Biodegradation the dominant mechanism removal, and glucose optimal substrate for Red Cibacron-2G (RC) decolorization. Batch experiments were conducted to evaluate performance MFC. As compared traditional anaerobic technology higher efficiency achieved Effect initial concentration external resistance on power studied. Polarization also directed find maximum density. Maximum Power density 100mW/m2 (1.04A/m2) recorded at optimum operating conditions.
