Opinions of Turkish ophthalmologists on telemedicine applications: A national, questionnaire-based survey

ABSTRACT
Purpose: The study aims to determine the opinions of ophthalmologists about use telemedicine applications in field ophthalmology.Methods: A standardized questionnaire consisting 20 questions demographic information and ophthalmology was sent electronically 110 ophthalmologists.The physicians were asked answer questionnaire, data analyzed.Results: Of who received 87 answered all results evaluated based on answers physicians.Only 9 (11%) stated that they had sufficient knowledge telemedicine, it observed these between ages 24-34.Fifty-eight (67%) could be used, 60 (69%) patients would also benefit from applications.It has been rate think patient-physician relationship will affected by practices is only 29 (33%).Sixty-two (74%) services provided through voice communication video transmission insufficient, conversation appropriate. Conclusion:The necessity keeping up with speed technology development health include more our lives.As a result study, we can predict support this if deficiencies are eliminated, medicolegal regulations made.
