ABSTRACT
Patients with a congenital heart disease and unfavourable anatomy that are not amenable to the primary correction of defect might need ventricular assist device as bridge transplant. Pulsatile paracorporeal devices represent excellent options for supporting these patients complex conditions. The Berlin Heart EXCOR is such pulsatile device. flow more physiologic because it resembles natural circulation pumped by heart. displacement pump; therefore, risk increased haemolysis greater.
