ABSTRACT
The Berlin Heart EXCOR is a pulsatile paracorporeal ventricular assist device (VAD) for neonates, infants, children and adults with congenital or acquired severe dysfunction. VADs are routinely used as either bridge to cardiac transplantation, occasionally recovery. Our programmatic philosophy neonates infants functionally univentricular ductal-dependent systemic circulation pulmonary who at high risk staged palliation because of important factors single-ventricle VAD (sVAD) transplant. This video tutorial documents our approach patient underwent ductal stenting placement internal flow restrictors another institution subsequently had an operation the University Florida that included sVAD, removal bilateral external artery bands.
