ABSTRACT
Abstract An effective gene conservation programme requires the knowledge of genetic variability population. The structure Mangalica pig breeds (Blonde, Red and Swallow-bellied) was studied from pedigree records. Herdbook data available up to 2011 registered were analysed. number complete generations 6 for Blonde 5 Swallow-bellied whereas average generation equivalent between 3.51 6.01. level inbreeding reference population low (4.07–5.87%). investigated could be considered as small populations based on probability origin. most important ancestor contributed 9 16% pool populations. longest interval found sire-to-son pathways shortest dam-to-daughter each breed.
