ABSTRACT
Abstract Adjacent mountain area and plain generally belong to the same climate zone, a close hydraulic connection is also found between them. However, flood controls in these two areas different management departments. Flood occurring can bring serious waterlog disasters, posing great threat human lives property. Previous studies mainly focused on individual event or areas, while research floods simultaneously both insufficient. Hence, this study establishes copula function-based assessment method systematically analyze characteristics of simultaneously-occurring Hangzhou City, thereby providing basis for collaborative areas. Results show that proposed approach give water level combinations are prone co-occurring floods. Moreover, most likely appear with under similar return periods, indicating equivalent occur when severe This provides better understanding interplay offering insights coordinating protection system
