ABSTRACT
Abstract Algerian Eucalyptus Leaves (AEL), a natural biodegradable adsorbent abundantly available, was used for the removal of methylene blue (MB) dye. The AEL properties MB were investigated under different conditions by varying amount, concentration, pH solution and reaction temperature. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques have been to characterize biosorbent. Experimental results showed that adsorption dye at concentration 50 mg L −1 reached 91 % 10 with stirring speed 200 rpm after 180 min time. experimental data analyzed using linear forms kinetic models (pseudo-first order model, pseudo-second intra-particle diffusion models). demonstrated kinetics consistent model R 2 value 0.9969. isotherm Langmuir, Freundlich, Dubinin, Elovich, Brunaut Emmet Teller Temkin also describe equilibrium. show is in accordance isotherm. thermodynamic study revealed spontaneous exothermic. Therefore, as cheap green high performance, expected become one best candidate materials future industrial wastewater treatment.
