ABSTRACT
Abstract The current study describes the chemical identification, antimicrobial, and mosquito larvicidal activities of essential oils from Meistera caudata Conamomum vietnamense , growing in Vietnam. Essential were extracted leaves rhizomes, characterized by GC-FID/MS (gas chromatography-flame ionization detection/mass spectrometry) analysis. Monoterpenes (33.1–89.2 %) main class found these oils. β -Pinene (30.8 α -pinene (23.8 two major compounds M. leaf oil. C. rhizome dominated 1,8-cineole (47.9–62.0 limonene (10.3–16.2 %). With same MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) value 25 μg/mL, strongly inhibited growth Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 Bacillus subtilis 6501, respectively. For 24 48-h treatments, oil controlled Aedes aegypti with respective LC 50 values 7.67 6.73 90 13.37 10.83 μg/mL. In manner, also showed strong activity against albopictus 12.37 12.00 20.56 18.58 containing a high amount are generally better than both biological assays.
