ABSTRACT
A population study in a sample of 200 unrelated individuals from the Basque Country (Northern Spain) was carried out using GenePrint STR Multiplex System. The PCR products were electrophorized on denaturing polyacrylamide gel and visualized by silver staining. loci are TH01, TPOX, CSF1PO. All meet Hardy-Weinberg expectations, independence alelles at these found. comparison with other groups appeared to indicate that frequencies well conserved Caucasians, but differ those racial groups. We have also calculated Fst as measure subdivision. No appreciable genetic subdivision Caucasian populations studied here Some statistical parameters forensic interest (Pex, PM PD) calculated. exclusions found 100 mother-child father-child meiosis. To evaluate applicability systems casework, we minimum quantity DNA which can be used applying multiplex methodology, typed mixed sample. examined several samples such hair roots, semen stains, vaginal swabs, blood stains temporary teeth, each varying ages.
