ABSTRACT
gp130 is a signal-transducing receptor component used in common by the interleukin-6 (IL-6) family of hematopoietic and neurotrophic cytokines, including IL-6, IL-11, leukemia-inhibitory factor, ciliary oncostatin-M, cardiotrophin-1. We have examined this study role nervous system analyzing developmental cell death several neuronal populations differentiation astrocytes gp130-deficient mice. A significant reduction was observed number sensory neurons L5 dorsal root ganglia motoneurons facial nucleus, nucleus ambiguus, lumbar spinal cord −/− mice on embryonic day 18.5. On other hand, no loss detectable 14.5, suggesting physiological supporting newly generated during late phase development when naturally occurring takes place. Moreover, expression an astrocyte marker, GFAP, severely reduced brain Our data demonstrate that essential for survival subgroups differentiated motor major vivo .
