ABSTRACT
Carbonated hydroxyapatite (CHA) was successfully synthesized from pearl shells (Pinctada maxima) using the precipitation method with pH treatment variation. Based on X-ray diffractometer (XRD) results, caused crystallographic properties of CHA to decrease. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) data showed characteristics B-type CHA. energy dispersive X-Ray (EDS) analysis that a 10 had most significant carbonate content 6.3 wt%. transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis, morphology agglomerated compared other samples.
