ABSTRACT
Introduction: The National Health Service (NHS) Low Calorie Diet (LCD) pilot programme aimed to support people with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) lose weight, reduce glycaemia and potentially achieve T2DM remission using total diet replacement alongside behaviour change support. Re:Mission study seeks provide an enhanced understanding of the long-term cost-effectiveness its implementation, equity, transferability normalisation across broad diverse populations. This article presents overview methods used in study. Methods analysis: A mixed method approach was draw together service user insights from longitudinal cross-sectional online surveys semi-structured interviews supported by a modified photovoice technique. Insights were captured active users three phases (total replacement, food reintroduction maintenance) addition those discharged prematurely. Survey data analysed descriptive statistics qualitative thematically interpreted through realist informed lens understand which aspects work do not work, for whom, what context why. Results: Results are presented elsewhere, recommendations policy practice research.
