ABSTRACT
Smart hydrophobic-hydrophilic self-switching cellulosic materials were synthesized by regioselective functionalization of cellulose in green Ionic Liquids (ILs). The thermal analysis indicated that the introduction a macromolecular structure including trityl or heptafluorobutyric group onto chain increased stability derivatives. Wetting contact angle surface decreased from 103° to 73° as holding time at ambient conditions (19.8 °C, 65%). After wetting, free energy 11.03 34.09 J·m, which polarity component 60.92% 94.19%. XPS content oleophobic-hydrophobic CF3-CF2-CF2-CO- groups exposed after while hydrophilic HOOC- increased, verified process between hydrophobic and properties within materials. characteristic means biodegradable have suitable selectivities for high-impact applications various fields.
