ABSTRACT
In this study, hypochlorous acid solution, a weak acid, provided as drinking water to rats, was evaluated for its ability eradicate and prevent Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, while monitoring simultaneous effect on serum biochemical variables microbiota in the rat cecum. The results suggest that solution could not eliminate bacteria experimentally infected rats; however, administration of 10-parts-per-million (ppm) effective inhibiting horizontal spread P. infection among cage mates. Additionally, exposure did have any including levels total cholesterol, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), albumin, bilirubin, lipase, amylase, urea nitrogen, protein, calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), sodium (Na), chlorine (Cl), except potassium (K) levels. most frequently isolated cecum included species belonging Bacteroidales, Lactobacillus, Clostridiales, Erysipelotrichaceae, Akkermansia, Coriobacteriales, Firmicutes. ratio terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) peaks differ across rats administered with 5 10 ppm compared control group bacteria, Erysipelotrichaceae Firmicutes, where T-RFLP higher Firmicutes than (P<0.01). completely from rats. preventing without affecting variables; some bacterial may changed due solution.
