ABSTRACT
Communication is a basic tool in nursing, crucial element health care. The quality of the interactions that take place between nurse and user/family influences their satisfaction security they feel regarding care get from institution. We tried to identify communication skills interpersonal relationships nursing students have with patients; socio-demographic academic variables may influence students' relationships. As methodology we applied, Quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive correlational study. data collection instrument was questionnaire which included questions concerning: characterization, will make interviews clinical communications easier care; usefulness those possible ranges 374 two Portuguese schools formed sample. majority participants survey were female (80.5%) aged 18 21. seemed understand accept importance practice (82.4%); agreed way methods communicational taught (54.3%). In opinion training got this area good (71.7%). participants' age, semester during study conducted school attending influenced (p 0.5). results obtained allow us conclude education / field relational contexts can develop paramount when it comes empower them capacity become competent professional.
