ABSTRACT
Objective This study aimed to describe the conceptualization, development, and implementation processes of newly established Korean Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Consortium (KoCARC) improve out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) outcomes. Methods The KoCARC was in 2014 by recruiting hospitals willing participate voluntarily. To enhance professionalism research, seven research committees, Epidemiology Preventive Research Committee, Community Emergency Medical System Hospital Hypothermia Postresuscitation Care Pediatric were organized under a steering committee. registry developed with variables incorporated currently existing regional OHCA registries Utstein templates collected via web-based electronic database system. population comprises patients visiting participating who had been treated emergency medical system for presumed have etiology. Results A total 62 volunteered KoCARC, which captures 33.0% Korea. Web-based data collection started October 2015, date (December 2016), there 3,187 cases compiled from 32 hospitals. Conclusion is self-funded, voluntary, hospital-based collaborative network providing high level evidence field resuscitation. paper will serve as reference subsequent manuscripts elements study.
