An updated checklist of the orchids of Maharashtra, India

A checklist of the Orchidaceae Maharashtra is presented based on herbarium collections and recent botanical explorations. This list comprises 32 genera with 106 taxa.The best represented genus Habenaria, 23 species, followed by Dendrobium eleven, Eulophia Oberonia seven Peristylus six. In Maharashtra, total endemic orchid species are 41 spread over in 13 genera. Of these 30, 6 to Peninsular India 5 India. Generally orchids found nine major habitats which representation was observed semi-evergreen forests (55 species) moist deciduous (48 species), high altitude rocky plateaus (26 dry (25 species). checklist, flowering, habit, habitat, status, distribution presented. &nbsp
