ABSTRACT
To describe the frequency of cytotoxin-associated gene A (CagA) and vacuolating cytotoxin (VacA) virulence genes clarithromycin resistance-associated mutations among Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) clinical isolates from Eastern Saudi Arabia.A cross-sectional study was carried out between July 2020 June 2021 in a tertiary hospital AL-Khobar, Arabia. total 34 H. were obtained gastric biopsies patients with dyspepsia. The existence studied by polymerase chain reaction fragment 23s ribosomal subunit (23s rRNA) sequenced. All harbored CagA gene. Approximately 97.1% (33/34) positive using VacA M primer 91.2% (31/34) S primer. most frequent allelic combination S2/M2/cag (60%), followed S1/M2/cag (26.7%), S1/M1/cag (10%), S2/M1/cag (3.3%). 6.5% A2142G mutation 29% A2143G mutation. One isolate contained T2182C. phylogenetic analysis showed that 58% clustered regional global while remaining 42% seemed to be specifically circulating Most (73.5%) had already underwent previous eradication therapy. We there is variation isolates. Additionally, we rRNA related resistance
