Prevalence of elastofibroma dorsi found incidentally upon chest computed tomography scan

ABSTRACT
<h3>Objectives:</h3> To determine the prevalence and demographic data regarding incidentally encountered elastofibroma dorsi (EFD) in Saudi population-based on chest CT (computed tomography) scans. <h3>Methods:</h3> This retrospective study was carried out 4,435 examinations that were collected between January 2014 December 2016 Riyadh, Arabia. One musculoskeletal radiologist who unaware of patients' clinical presentations or reasons for reviewed CTs prospectively, searching soft tissue tumors subscapular region. <h3>Results:</h3> Elastofibroma confirmed via scan 36 patients, including 8 males 28 females, with a mean age 76.6 years, yielding 0.8%. more common 3.3-fold higher (77.8%) as compared to (22.2%); however, this difference not statistically significant (<i>p</i>&gt;0.05). Twenty-five (69.44%) patients had unilateral EFD 11 (30.56%) bilateral EFD. Right-sided 60% females 50% males. Furthermore, there no correlation size patient's gender <h3>Conclusion:</h3> is rare but uncommon incidental finding routine examination 0.8% elderly patients.
