ABSTRACT
Abstract The spread of NDM-1-harboring Klebsiella pneumoniae is a worldwide concern. In this study the whole-genome sequence (WGS) carbapenem- and colistin-resistant K. 838Gr strain presented. This was isolated from urine sample patient in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Volos Hospital, Greece. initial assembly produced 224 contigs with combined genome size 5,561,803 bp GC content 57.21%. carried IncR, IncFIA, IncC, repB (R1701) replicons. Multilocus typing (MLST) analysis revealed that isolate belonged to type 11 (ST11) serogroup KL24 O2a. WGS identified several beta-lactamase genes ( bla TEM-1B , CTX-M-15 NDM-1 OXA-1 VEB-1 OXA-10 SHV-11 ) alongside resistance for other antibiotic classes, including floR2, cmlA1, cmlA5, catB3, arr-3, aph(6)-Id, aadA2 . Colistin attributed specific point mutations pmrB (R256G, T140P). first report ST11 findings highlight urgent need increased surveillance stringent infection control.
