We present the first record of Ambidexter symmetricus Manning & Chace, 1971 for state Rio Grande do Norte, northeastern Brazil, filling a distribution gap this species in country. confirm preference seagrass meadows Curimataú river estuary. Lastly, brief overview and an updated map records on Brazilian coast are provided.
