ABSTRACT
Background: Interference is a condition of which sample components cause an error in the analyte measurement analyzer. The most common interference lipemic sample. Lipemic characterized by turbidity serum or plasma caused accumulation lipoprotein particles. Primary mixed hyperlipidemia (PMH) primary hypertrigliseridemia with lipemia manifestation.Case report: A three month-old baby boy was admitted to hospital, having white spots his black eyes. were seen clearer at light exposure, and ophthalmologic examination indicated retinalis. Patient’s its laboratory analysis resulted as follow: WBC 13.103/μL, Hb 15.6 gr/dL, RBC 2.99 106/μL, triglyserida 10.435 mg/dL, total cholesterol 631 HDL 12 LDL 195 apoprotein B 196 mg/dL. Due significant interference, SGOT, SGPT, ureum creatinin not obtained. Immunologic patient mother showed increasing antibody IgG CMV: 28 dan 20 IU/ml, respectively. Conclusion: samples could directly affect methods. Laboratory results such interferences shoud be interpretated critically accurately produce precise diagnosis, turn, monitoring lipemia.
