ABSTRACT
Introduction: Erythema induratum of Bazin (EIB) is a rare tuberculid form characterized by hypersensitivity to Mycobacterium tuberculosis antigens.There are few case series related EIB in the literature.We evaluated demographic, clinical, treatment, and follow-up characteristics patients diagnosed with EIB.Methods: Demographic, histopathologic, imaging findings as well treatment properties were 22 retrospectively between January 2013 December 2018.Results: Of patients, 90.9% female 9.1% male.The mean age was 57.2 ± 12.9 years.Ten had history contact tuberculosis, one active pulmonary tuberculosis.The purified protein derivate (PPD) test average 18.1 mm.The lesions located lower extremity all upper 31.8% patients.Histopathologically, 22.7% vasculitis, 27.3% treated four drugs, 72.7% followed without treatment.Treatment continued for two 75.0% four-drug regimen recovered.Relapse observed after 36 months.The recovery rate found be 87.5% that did not receive there no relapses follow-up.Conclusions: EIB's etiopathogenesis unknown.In total, receiving recovered our study.The role tuberculous therapy management controversial.The selection appropriate continues an area debate, further studies needed.
