ABSTRACT
Marine fungi have become an important source of bioactive natural products. The present study was concerned with the screening antimicrobial activity from 73 fungal strains isolated various marine habitats collected five different localities at Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang, Vietnam. For first step screening, ethyl acetate extract each isolate prepared and their against human microbial pathogens investigated using disc diffusion method. panel used were Bacillus cereus ATCC 11778, Escherichia coli 25922, Staphylococcus aureus 25923, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 27853, Listeria monocytogenes 19111, Streptococcus faecalis 19433 Candida albicans 10231. Among isolates, 29 exhibited least two tested pathogens. proportion isolates having anti-microbial B. cereus, S. faecalis, L. monocytogenes, aureus, E. coli, C. P. 42, 33, 31, 22, 7, 5 3%, respectively. Further investigations to characterize components in extracts are needed.
