Thebes is among the best-documented Venetian colonies in Byzantium, with records dating back to 1072. While it widely acknowledged that Venetians played a crucial role development of Byzantine Thebes, details about community city remain largely unexplored, which has hindered deeper understanding true extent impact on Thebes.
