ABSTRACT
Introduction: High breast density is an independent risk factor for cancer and can decrease the sensitivity of mammography.However, evidence surrounding recommendations patient stratification supplemental screening evolving, providers receive limited training on counseling.Methods: We implemented introductory, interactive workshop about including current behind stratification.Designed who counsel women health, this was evaluated with internal medicine providers, primary care residents, radiology residents.We surveyed participants knowledge attitudes at baseline, postintervention (residents providers), 3-month follow-up (providers only).We compared baseline scores using paired t tests McNemar's tests.Results: Internal had significant gains in when comparing to surveys (6.5-8.5 a 10-point scale, p < .0001),with maintained (p = .06).Primary residents also .004for both).All learner groups reported increases their confidence regarding counseling referring screening.Discussion: Through session, we showed trends increased change multiple groups.Because aim prepare best currently available recommendations, these materials will require frequent updating as national consensus evolve.
