ABSTRACT
Goal:The aim of this study was to evaluate the community-based prevalence atrial fibrillation (AF) in a geographically well-defined population central part Croatia. Methods:We searched hospital electronic health records Clinic Internal Medicine (IMD) and Emergency Department (ED) University Hospital Dubrava (UHD) for patients older than 20 years age diagnosed with AF period from January 1, 2007 2017.We then eliminated all who have died before 2017 or did not residence within official catchment area.Results: Of 125 596 analyzed, 14 781 were AF; these 5 086 alive on residing area UHD, which meant that overall 2.0%.The increased 4.3% over 50 13.0% those 80 years.It higher men women groups, while 90.8% at high risk stroke (≥2 points) according CHA2DS2-VASc score. Conclusion:Within our population, we identified very AF, large portion indication OAC prophylactic therapy AF.The strongly associated increasing male gender. 1
